Friends of Scouting

It is the responsibility of the Council to insure that adequate funding exists for the support of local units, promotion of the Scouting program and operation of camps and facilities.  As such the Conquistador Council administers an aggressive annual fundraising campaign known as the Friends of Scouting.

Friends of Scouting is a major funding source to provide for the council’s services and programs.  The council’s Friends make possible the field and office staff, the service center and outdoor facilities, help with recruiting new members and leaders, help with program planning, maintaining membership and leader records, the council Scout shop, and much more.

The Family Division of the Friends of Scouting enrollment is critical to reaching the finance goal.  This coming year, every unit will be asked to appoint a Friends of Scouting chairman and every family will be asked to become a Friend of  Scouting.

The Family Division goal will be about $30,000 which is an average of $30 per family

“Be Prepared” to make the future of Scouting brighter by being a Friend of Scouting leader.
